Ch..Ch..Ch..Changes
Tomorrow is my last day at work.
After months of stable, consistent lovely office labor at a fabulous work place with co-workers I loved and a job where I worked hard and then was able to spend a large chunk of my time watching TV and blogging, I am moving on. First, for a whirlwind trip through China with my Chinatown court and then to an exciting new job opportunity (and life?!).
I think it’s about time that I tell you what I have been doing for the past four months.
I’m a temp.
Dream Chasers

No, these people are not lined up for the Kogi truck. Or for Black Friday. Or for the new Disneyland show, “World of Colors.”
I Miss You

We used to converse all the time and now, I hardly remember your voice.
Our inside jokes still bring a smile to my face but recent ones don’t come to mind anymore.
I always used to light up when I see your name pop up on Gchat but now, I must find other people to spread my weirdness to. (And do they get my weirdness? Do they? Do they?)
You were the person I always confided in-sometimes to an annoying degree but I always knew I could come to you for anything, anytime, anywhere. Now I don’t have you anymore and I miss that.
summer reading

Aahhh, summertime. The time to kick back, relax, and knock back a few.
Books, I mean. (Beers are nice too but books have fewer calories.)
Bob

Let’s get the elephant out of the room.
Yes, I know. I look like the spittin’ image of my father. I actually look even more like my nai nai (dad’s mom) but my dad is a close twin.
Growing up, my dad and I also often had very similar personalities. We are the more cool-headed half of the family while my sister and my mom carries a lot of the fire and pep. We have the same joking manners. (I think I learned from my dad the whole, “it’s not funny? it’s not funny?” bit.) My dad is easy to talk to, often a calming presence and someone I know will always have my back. When my ex-boyfriend’s car broke down in the middle of nowhere, my dad went to pick him up and get him home. When I told him I wanted to take the train to work, he personally woke up at 6 in the morning to test-run my train route to make sure I wouldn’t get lost or run late my first time taking it. When I went to study abroad for half a year, he emailed me this. He always wanted me to be a basketball player but got over his heartbreak of learning I have no hand-eye coordination WHATSOEVER and supports my sister and I’s girly endeavors of becoming glamorized movie stars or pageant queens or whatever as much as he can.
Both my parents are amazing in each of their own ways. And I know I don’t say it enough to them personally nor to the world but I am truly truly blessed. Happy father’s day, Bob. I may grow up someday and meet another man that is important in my life but just know that whenever I sleep with my mouth open, catch a glimpse of my dimples in the mirror or get made fun of for loving to eat meat so much, I will always know where I got that from. Oh yea, and also thanks for giving me the most awesome name ever. I love being a Jann!

PS. I don’t have a cute little brother. That’s my cuz cuz John John. And he is still just as adorable. And siiingle, ladies! *wink wink
Never Too Late
Alice Tan Ridly has got the whole reality competition show Cinderella story down.
After years of singing in New York subways, she is finally sharing her vocal talents with America. She’s also got some star power being Oscar nominee and press darling, Precious star Gabourey Sidibe’s mother. And, this lady can sing.
Holy moly can she sing.
Time, Are You Really on my Side?

They say patience is a virtue.
If that may be the truth, then I am not a very virtuous woman. But I’m trying. Trying to not to attempt control at every aspect of my life. Trying to rely on others, lean on Him.
I leave this up to You. You know what’s best for me and You will take me where You want me to go.
Thank you friends for all your support. Please continue supporting me by spreading my link and voting! (Don’t be dejected if the numbers don’t go up, be patient.) If something were to come out of this, I just may be seeing a country song to y’alls. *wink wink (I think being a tease does not make me very virtuous either.)
Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience.

I have this problem. I have a need to share with the world my passions and interests and hope that they will also enjoy it. Hence, this blog is born- to showcase some of the things I'm most fascinated with. Most of the posts relate to the media as it relates to me. (Blame the early twenties neurosis of thinking the world revolves around you). (More..)
