I went running on the ellipticals the other day and my sister showed up on the TV gym that I was watching from. I was like, “whoa! I know that girl!” It was pretty cool seeing someone I’ve shared hundreds of dresses, millions of dresses and one vaginal entryway into the world with on TV.

And this commercial is also coming out.

People, the way Jessica auditioned for this role should teach you a thing or two about working hard for your part. When she found out she needed to learn how to dive for the part the morning of the audition, my sister went to the swimming pool for three hours to learn. Mercifully, she had two little blonde angels in the form of 8-year old boys who taught her how in those three hours, giving her tips and techniques.

She got along swimmingly and landed the role!

Hong Kong sure likes seeing my sis on TV-in a bathing suit, no less! Proud of ya, sis. :) You are (literally) my writing inspiration!

An Oldie But Goodie

Thursday, 07.29.2010

I feel like I have been neglecting this blog for the past couple of weeks.  Time to show the media maid some love.

Hi.

The reason I haven’t been writing is because I’m kind of going through a bit of a writer’s block, a bit of a dry spell.  Inspiration is still coming at me from every end, hitting my eyes, my ears, my heart but putting it down on computer is another thing altogether.

I figure I will just keep updating my travel blog until some good and witty stuff begins bubbling out of my soul again.

In the meantime, a little reminder for all of us whenever we feel like we have hit a standstill in life.

Thanks, Will, for the initial introduction. :) I finally finished watching it.

KTV

Wednesday, 07.21.2010

In Asia, it’s hard to avoid KTV. That is, Karaoke. It’s hard to avoid that because apparently, all Asians love to sing together with others in brightly lit rooms with the accompaniment of peanuts and light beverages. While I was traveling, the 2010 LA Chinatown court and I karaoked 2.5 times. I have the .5 because we made Nebula sing My Heart Will Go On on the first night. Twice. Teehee. She killed it. Another time, we were treated by Nebula’s cousin. While there, we caught these super-cheesy MVs (music videos). We were especially enraptured with this one:

Put a Smile on Your Face

Monday, 07.19.2010

A smile is a beautiful thing.

It can make a sad person happy and an ugly person pretty. Operation Smile is a wonderful organization that aides kids born with severe cleft conditions and gives them the opportunity to smile. A friend organized a charity event here in Hong Kong to raise money for this notable cause and I was honored to attend. Here are my lovely sis and I putting on our best smiles.

I’m Alive!

Sunday, 07.4.2010

Greetings from DengFeng, China! I’m here using hotel internet at 10 yuan an hour (that’s a little over a buck) and sweating up a storm.

Sadness, I just found out that China does not have Blogger nor Twitter (at least, not from when I tried) and so updates will have to come in when I get to Hong Kong.

A few quick updates:

*I had to get the full China experience and what is China without food poisoning? (It’s either food poisoning or indigestion, either way, I am weaksauce)

*Drink lots of water when you climb the Great Wall in July because you will suffer from heatstroke.

*I am getting better at peeing down a hole.  (Still haven’t mastered number 2 yet though.)

*We either look like celebrities or freaks here. Strangers keep taking pictures of us when we walk by. No biggie.

*I am having an amazing time and…I’m not getting homesick but I do wish everyone from my home is here with me having an amazing time as well.

Better update (with pictures?) will be coming soon.

Until then, ta ta!

I have this problem. I have a need to share with the world my passions and interests and hope that they will also enjoy it. Hence, this blog is born- to showcase some of the things I'm most fascinated with. Most of the posts relate to the media as it relates to me. (Blame the early twenties neurosis of thinking the world revolves around you). (More..)
