Party Like a Rockstar
In this new era of social marketing, rules have changed. No more will a mere movie poster taped on the poles of the neighborhood mall suffice to bring in the box office bucks. To get something out there, one usually needs to resort to a type of guerrilla marketing, appealing to your clients and audiences and guests and customers in different, clever, unique ways. Swag bags, celebrity appearances, giveaways have all been proven effective methods to target the market.
Or, you could just invite them out to a party.

Woo Weds
You may or may not have remembered my obsessive, Bridezilla-like post about marriages a couple months past. If not, here’s a reminder. Well, the post was brought on by one of two things. 1) My good friend Val was getting married and I was to attend her wedding end of July and 2) my former editor/current co-worker and pal Michelle Woo was also tying the knot. I am an avid reader of Michelle’s most-excellent blog and the woman has been on a non-stop rampage posting about her upcoming nuptials so it was tough not to get out of the bridal bubble.
Home At Last(?)
Though I can (and have been able to) sleep anywhere, whether it be a car, a cave, a futon or a California King, I’m a lot less comfortable with the idea of being a wandering cyber nomad.
Since I was traipsing around Asia this summer, I figured I would leave my beloved laptop at home, safe and sound with my parents. Much to my dismay, I found out that my Macbook Pro’s allure was too irresistible for my dear old dad, for he fell in love at first use and has since ceased to relinquish the silver comp from his grasps.
And then I found that that I’m not so comfortable when my digital possessions lack a home. In Hong Kong, my sis and cousin were kind enough to share their Macs but I didn’t like borrowing and thus my internet appearances decreased drastically. (Which may or may not be a good thing.) Also, I kept everything in my hard drive but it’s a luggy old thing, so it was a pain to bust out all the time. I was super uncomfortable with the idea that all my stuff seemed to be scattered everywhere and I couldn’t focus. And focusing is already a tough enough issue as it is for–did you see that butterfly?!
Anyway, to remedy this situation, I got meself some new toys.

I have this problem. I have a need to share with the world my passions and interests and hope that they will also enjoy it. Hence, this blog is born- to showcase some of the things I'm most fascinated with. Most of the posts relate to the media as it relates to me. (Blame the early twenties neurosis of thinking the world revolves around you). (More..)
