FALLing for TV

Ahh Fall.

The smell of falling leaves. The warm, cozy air. The excitement of school starting, of the holidays approaching.  I love Fall (but then again, I love every season. Except for Spring. And maybe the hot months of Summer. And maybe some lonely parts of Winter.) a lot because that means that

TV IS BAAAAAACCCCKKKKKK!!!!!

and I really really love TV.

As you may or may not know, Fall is normally the time when regular series return to the tube and when new shows come on air.  It’s when we receive a new batch of stories and characters to fall in love with on TV.

It’s kind of like my Christmas.

My excitement has already been teased with the Emmy’s this past Sunday and this awesome Modern Family clip:

It’s also been tantalized with new billboards popping up all over Los Angeles.  I’m especially inspired to see so many Asian faces dominating the freeways.

Look at that! Wow Pow Daniel Day Kim and Grace Park in yO face! Smack dab front and center in the middle of a HUGE Hawaii Five-O billboard facing the 10 freeway.

And that’s Maggie Q showin’ some gams for her starring role in CW’s Nikita. I accidentally cut off her head because I was kind of driving when I took these pictures (I know, I know, total hazard on the road, never again, I promise) but really, we all know that it’s these legs that are selling the show anyway.

This is what the picture looks like. Hotness to the maximus. In fact, Q is so hot, she’s being banned in several shopping malls across America.

As an Asian American woman working and working her way into the entertainment/media industry, I love seeing people who look like me popping up everywhere.  For those of you who don’t think that image perpetuation in the media makes an impact on who we are as individuals, it does. I’m proud to be in a time where little Asian girls and boys can envision themselves on the big (or small) screens.  Cheers to more, more, more!

What shows are you most looking forward to this Fall?

I have this problem. I have a need to share with the world my passions and interests and hope that they will also enjoy it. Hence, this blog is born- to showcase some of the things I'm most fascinated with. Most of the posts relate to the media as it relates to me. (Blame the early twenties neurosis of thinking the world revolves around you). (More..)
