Hello Happy!
Hello Kitty sure knows how to throw a party.
I was invited to attend the special VIP/Press party for Sanrio’s Small Gift celebration, for the company’s 50 years of small gifts, smiles, and Hello Kitty-dom.
I was very surprised at discovering how excited I was to go to the event. At first, citing distance, I almost backed out but once I started digging in my closet, I started to have fun choosing what to wear to a HELLO KITTY EVENT. Dude, it’s only once in a full moon that you get to dress like a 12-year old again and not get weird stares for a night and I was going to take full advantage of that opportunity!
Here I am with my gal pal, Annie. Stark white headband, rainbow baubly necklace, flowery denim dress, hot pink tights and flat boots doth a 12-year old getup make!
Lemme tell ya how Hello Kitty parties, okay?

Celebs galore… 
- Lisa Loeb on the red carpet.
- Ashlee Simpson is so cute and tiny! I loved her reality show and told her so.
- Kimora Lee Simmons is fabulous. She’s also way better-looking in real life.
- We’re not celebs (yet) but we still wanted to get a picture on the red carpet.

From galleries of artists’ pieces celebrating Sanrio characters to dressing up as a character and taking some pictures.
Caricatures
We even got to pose for our own caricatures! I thought I was all creative when I asked for a red bow on my drawing but turns out pretty much everyone else got one too.

We all got a sweet goody bag to take home.
I think it’d be a bit too much to roll out onto the streets in this but next time Hello Kitty throws a party, I hope I’m on the guest list!
