How much information is too much information?

When I started this blog, it was supposed to be a forum for me to discuss the media from a critical view-but with a personal twist. I would include my own anecdotes and thoughts and feelings on subjects. Then, when I finished school and began to work (or rather, trying to find work) in the industry, I found that more and more, I would relay stories of my private affairs with the world. My mama issues, sharing my faith, tales of my pitfalls and pratfalls slipped easily out of my fingers and onto the keyboard.  My family, a main source of my chronicles, often panicked, hoping my big mouth won’t blab out all their secrets. My mom (she’s so cute), even suggested that I write these personal entries in third person so readers wouldn’t think it was autobiographical.

To me, though, I share as much as I think will be enough to satiate my readers and clear my head.

But one thing I definitely refrain from writing about is my romantic life.  Matters of the heart are so fickle, so effervescent, and always flickering like the wind that publishing it will NEVER capture the entire essence of the story, of the emotions, of the relationship.

So I let others do the talking.

Check out this beautiful Five for Fighting song, “Chances.” For me, the poetry of the words comes first but I always was a sucker for the piano.

I would post the lyrics but that’s just treading into 8th grade Xanga territory.

If my song choices are a little too mopey, too emo and too sappy for all my urban roughneck readers out there, head on over to a dear companion’s music tumblr. It should get your dope, slick rick, hip hop souls a bouncin’.

Have a good weekend, kiddos.  Remember how blessed you are. I know I do.

Great song, you should listen to some piano covers from different artists or movies. Those are the best, :D

The release of Slice is being led with first single “Chances,” a sweeping, grand pop song with a simple message: “Until you crash what have you done/Is there a better bet than love.” Says Ondrasik, “It’s all about taking the swing—there’s beauty in the scars.”

Hi Janice! I’ve become your new blog fan! LOL anyway, although in the past, I would creepily read your blogs without you knowing, today I decided to reveal myself as I found this post hilarious (not the part where you don’t want to talk about relationships) – but this part, “I would post the lyrics but that’s just treading into 8th grade Xanga territory.” wuahahah so funny. Anyways, keep it up! so proud of you! know that you have fans :)

I have this problem. I have a need to share with the world my passions and interests and hope that they will also enjoy it. Hence, this blog is born- to showcase some of the things I'm most fascinated with. Most of the posts relate to the media as it relates to me. (Blame the early twenties neurosis of thinking the world revolves around you). (More..)
