Showbiz Family

Monday, 09.20.2010

The term “showbiz” family has never been more true than last weekend, where my mom, dad, grandma and I all shot commercials. My mom was the busiest bee, doing two commercials back-to-back, playing three different characters.

She was this cute ol’ GRANDMA in the morning with these big ol’ glasses and wrinkles and gray hair but because she won’t let me show you pictures, this is the clearest one I can post.

Her and my dad were super adorable playing grandparents. It was refreshing for once that Jessica and I chilled behind the cameras, yelling out acting tips and attacking the craft service table…

Then in the afternoon, my mom played DAUGHTER to her real-life mama (my “Abu”).  THEY WERE SO CUTE AND SO GOOD IN THE COMMERCIAL I WAS SO PROUD WATCHING BEHIND THE SCENES NOW I KNOW WHAT IT FEELS LIKE TO BE A PROUD MOMMA! CUTE CUTE CUTE <3<3<3

The next day, my mom and I went to USC to shoot a Wells Fargo commercial.  In case you didn’t know, we play…MOTHER and daughter. (Though sometimes, I really feel like the mother. Kekeke, joking mom if you’re reading this…)

Here are some onset shenanigans, most of which consists of taking pictures around town. It was my mom’s first legit commercial! We had to preserve the memories!

(Clockwise from left to right, our "family," we got trailers!, shooting with the director, purty mama in blue)

My girl Nebula looked so beautiful and classy playing a bride in the other Wells Fargo commercial (they were shooting two to be aired at the same time). SO PRETTY!!!

Oh! And I also made new friends! Brian’s such a cutie and this is his first gig! Congrats newbs! Welcome to the crazy, sometimes unfulfilling, sometimes really fulfilling, always fun life of an actor! And Simon and I go way back…all the way to the week before my callback audition for this gig. Hahah, we had literally met the week before and when I got to the callbacks, who was in the casting room but him? He played Nebula’s love interest. They made a very handsome onscreen couple. :)

All in all, an exciting weekend spent with my amazing mother, a woman who can not only raise two daughters, manage the household, created her own business for over 15 years, take care of her parents, be a devoted wife, but also ACT!

I’m sure this won’t be the last you’ll be seeing her on TV (or me, hopefully, for that matter). So until next time!

Simon and Nebula both got the gig! Cool! I remember Simon was almost late for his callback, haha. He was on set with me on “Prom” and he told me that Nebula got a callback too.

    So proud of y’all!

I have this problem. I have a need to share with the world my passions and interests and hope that they will also enjoy it. Hence, this blog is born- to showcase some of the things I'm most fascinated with. Most of the posts relate to the media as it relates to me. (Blame the early twenties neurosis of thinking the world revolves around you). (More..)
