Dietary Lifestyle Change
I’ve kind of been of a diet dietary lifestyle change for the past few weeks.
Now before you go off and say, “Oh noooo, Janice, Why? You shouldn’t! Why? You’re so skinny and perfect and pretty already!” (Or if you go off and say, “What took you so long?”) I just wanna let you know I’m not looking for any attention with this statement so please save it for yourself.

The particular diet I’m in the midst of is more geared to changing my eating habits so that I:
Gumption
gump·tion
noun /ˈgəmpSHən/
1. initiative; aggressiveness; resourcefulness: With his gumption he’ll make a success of himself.
2. courage; spunk; guts: It takes gumption to quit a high-paying job.
3. common sense; shrewdness.
It was a dark, dark evening.
We were in the study lounge of our residence hall.
It was nearing midnight. One of my roommates, Evelyn, several hall mates and even that random guy that always came to study at our lounge even though he didn’t live there were way due for a break. We were near delirium studying for the finals.
I busted out this song to listen to and started shaking my head, my shoulders and my arms to it just ’cause it was so dang catchy. Evelyn caught on. We synchronized our moves. We would replay the song over and over again moving the same way, cracking up sometimes, completely stone-faced other times.
To this day, it’s still one of my favorite songs. Probably because the title is my favorite word. Both for it’s meaning and just the way it rolls off my tongue. It’s plump and satisfying, like taking a big bite of macaroni and cheese.
May we live our lives with lots and lots of gumption (and mac and cheese).
How Can Asian Babies Be So Cute?
This is such a cheap post because it guarantees “awwws” and “oohs” and replays.
But then again, there’s nothing wrong with that.
It’s just a sleepy baby rolling over, smiling into the camera and then falling back asleep over and over again. But yet, I am mesmerized.
Yes, I have baby fever and I am not ashamed. Can’t wait until my niece and nephew come to America soon!

“Reading takes us away from home, but more important, it finds homes for us everywhere.”
~ Hazel Rochman
Been feeling a bit of wanderlust lately. My time to traverse the big wide world will come but until then, I have some paperback, hardcover and electronic friends to keep me company.
What books have you been reading lately?

I have this problem. I have a need to share with the world my passions and interests and hope that they will also enjoy it. Hence, this blog is born- to showcase some of the things I'm most fascinated with. Most of the posts relate to the media as it relates to me. (Blame the early twenties neurosis of thinking the world revolves around you). (More..)
