I am Not Cool. Literally.
What the hezzles is happening with this weather?! I could have sworn it was only just last week I was all bundled up in my baby blue UCLA sweatshirt, running to dive under my millions of blankets into my warm cozy bed.
So, it’s been awhile, folks. Let me tell ya, if my blog were my friend, I would have been a very very shitty friend. I don’t communicate with it for weeks, I don’t leave it messages, I don’t even check on it. I just leave it hanging, empty… alone… desolate…
Good Mood Poem of the Day
I’ve something to tell you, my friend,
The voting has now come to an end.
We really had quite a great run,
With 2273 votes, I ain’t no bum.
You were all a good sport though,
Putting up with my spams, whoa!
Even though I didn’t reach the top,
Feeling like a winner just won’t stop.
I feel all the love and support in the world,
That beats any paid gig, truth be told.
And for that, I have you all to thank.
How good you are to me, if I were to rank,
#1 all the way, to be frank!
Now you try taking that to the bank.
~Janice Jann
Thank You.
Good Mood Quote of the Day
“The best sermons are lived, not preached.”
~Cowboy Wisdom (but I first saw on Lisa Ling’s twitter)
I got to interview Lisa Ling for Audrey Magazine the other day (with my good friend Caroline (red stripes) and our lovely photographer Audrey (black top)). She has a new show on Oprah’s OWN network, out in January. Lisa, as usual, is always an encouragement. Not merely a say-er, she is a do-er that always let’s her actions do the talking.
It’s important for us to have role models; people to look up to, to emulate. Who are yours?
(Oh and if you can vote, click here. Thanks!)
Good Mood Brag of the Day
I can finally share with you something that has been making me happy for about a month now.
My new business cards!
If these are lookin’ a wee bit small to ya, it’s because they are! I got these mini-cards from moo. They’re half the size but double the cuteness. It’s kind of ironic because when you have really ugly business cards, you can’t wait to use them up but no one is really excited to receive them because they’re ugly but when you have pretty ones, you don’t want to give them out but everybody wants one.
Good Mood List of the Day
“If you want to feel rich, just count the things you have that money can’t buy.”
~Proverbs
So I count:
- Family who sometimes drive me up the wazoo but I know will go to the ends of the earth for me (and keep me entertained while doing it.)
- Getting to wear shorts in November.
- Friends who scheme up elaborate plans to get me to top 20 for the Good Mood Blogger contest. That I even have friends. That’s pretty cool.
- The secret question and answer my sister and I have for each other. (Just in case aliens ever invade one of our bodies.)
- Getting to read Taylor Swift’s “Sparks Fly” lyrics online and singing along to my CD. The words just make me swoon.
- When people I know are doing exceptional things. Doing things they’re passionate about. Doing things they’ve never done before. Doing things they’re scared shitless to do. That means you, you and you.
- Modern Family and How I Met Your Mother and 30 Rock and Mad Men and Ugly Betty and Veronica Mars and Friends and Gilmore Girls and all great TV that makes me feel things.
- The library. Books. The ability to read. The capability to love reading books.
- Having a heart that can break so easily but will mend over time.
- Knowledge that I don’t deserve anything in this world but that I have been given everything. (thx for the reminder Helena.)

Good Mood Quote of the Day
“Getting started is more important than getting it perfect.”
I started on a new project yesterday (Yes, I know, another one?!) Scared as heck, no idea what I’m doing. But at least I started. Let’s just hope I also finish!
Speaking of finishing up things, I was getting kind of disillusioned about the whole voting thing for the Good Mood Blogger contest because let’s face it, I ain’t Yahoo’s 2008 Personality of the Year, I ain’t a paraplegic dad of 4 adorable tykes, I ain’t no website creator, I ain’t no comedian, I’m just me, someone with this blog and a couple of friends on Facebook. And some of those friends even started defriending me because of my spam good mood messages! (It’s okay, I don’t want to be your friend anyway.)
But you know what, I’m going to continue because regardless of if I win or lose, at least I know I’ll have tried my best. If you guys know of any other cute, clever ways for me to remind people to vote for me everyday-something YOU would want to see, please let me know! We got about a week left of this madness so if there’s something you want to see me write/vblog/tweet/sing/beg about, please let me know! I’m open to trying it. (Except for stripping, my tummy is not in tip top shape, I don’t want to lose readers.)
Oh yes, and please vote!
Good Mood Pictures Of the Day
Meet Boo.
How can something be this cute? Is it even legal?
I feel like something as adorable as this should be banned. It might stop work productivity and cause constant “oohing” and “aahing” amongst the public. Such a disturbance!
But since it’s not banned, enjoy! And VOTE! You know the drill. Once a day, but as many outlets (phone, laptop, multiple servers) as you can find. Thanks for reading (and oohing and aahing).
Thanks Evan for incurring such cuteness upon me
Good Mood Jam of the Day
From the first time I heard Far East Movement perform this at the ISA concert, I was like, this is my jam!
Here we go, come with me
There’s a world out there that we should see
Take my hand, close your eyes
With you right here, I’m a rocketeer~Far East Movement ft. Ryan Tedder
Romantic, inspirational, and hella catchy, I dare you not to rock out to this. Plus, I’m loving how the music video is a love letter to LA.
Speaking of reaching for the stars, help me make top 20 for the Good Mood Blogger position! I’m making leaps and bounds in terms of votes and I only have you to thank for that. Remember, you can vote with computers and cell phones and laptops and Mozilla Firefox and Safari and Internet Explorer! Vote vote vote, please!
Good Mood Quote Of The Day
Today is so gorgeous, you get a 2-for-1 deal. I love both quotes.
“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is God’s gift, that’s why we call it the present.”
~ Joan Rivers
“We seem to be going through a period of nostalgia, and everyone seems to think yesterday was better than today. I don’t think it was, and I would advise you not to wait ten years before admitting today was great. If you’re hung up on nostalgia, pretend today is yesterday and just go out and have one hell of a time.”
~Art Buchwald
Speaking of 2-for-1′s, I just found out there are many many outlets for you to vote! You can vote with your COMPUTER, LAPTOP, CELL PHONE, IPOD, IPAD, MOZILLA, SAFARI (and any other browsers).
Once again, the link is here.
And after you do all that, please go out and have yourself a great day.
“Remember, today only happens TODAY. ”
~Janice Jann
(Can I make that into a quote? No? Keep working on it? Okay…)

I have this problem. I have a need to share with the world my passions and interests and hope that they will also enjoy it. Hence, this blog is born- to showcase some of the things I'm most fascinated with. Most of the posts relate to the media as it relates to me. (Blame the early twenties neurosis of thinking the world revolves around you). (More..)
