Stanley Beach
I didn’t used to be a beach girl.
The ocean was too salty.
The sun was messing with my dreams of becoming Snow White.
The whole sand between my toes thing? — annoying.
But something changed my heart. I think it’s views like this:
Look at this view. How can you not stare in wonder and amazement?
Venus (yep, real name) and I were planning on hiking Dragon’s Back but our bus kind of passed over that stop and landed us over to Stanley Beach.
Ah Stanley Beach…
‘Tis a fun place to spend a day or a relaxing afternoon.
Stanley Beach is very popular amongst tourists and that was evident with all the Western-styled restaurants that lined one side of the beach.
We ventured over to the other side of the beach, the one with all the pretty rocks and this was the view that we found.
Can you tell I have a slight love affair with the rocks?
Oh, and of course it wouldn’t be a nice location post without video.
Yea, I’d say I’m a beach girl now.
My Short Arboretum Trip
One of the best parts of the holidays (and there are so many, aren’t there) is the time I get to spend with my family.
On a regular basis, I generally already spend a fair amount of time with my folks but it’s usually hanging around the house or trips to the mall or getting groceries or something. It’s not…quality time, I should say. But it is something I’m working on.
I was determined to get my parents and grandma out of that lovely round kitchen table they usually sit at for most of the day and into the sunlight to soak up some Vitamin D so I made plans to take them to the arboretum.
My family, in our usual fashion, lagged and hemmed and hawed and stalled and reconsidered but I was adamant to get them out of the house this particular afternoon.
I daresay our trip to the Fullerton arboretum was a success and that they even enjoyed themselves (a little sunlight can do that to ya). But why don’t you decide for yourself in the video below? Check it:
When Trees Attack
In Southern California, we’re not known for crazy weather.
But as the winds from a week ago can attest, mother nature is one ferocious beast.
I made a video about my reaction to the winds.
By the way, is it vblog or vlog? I never knew the difference.
I Love Ebay!
Thanks to maid of honor duties for Miss Helena, a very important one consists of picking out THE perfect maid of honor dress.
Because this is Helena we are talking about, no pastel concoction purchased from Macy’s will do (although if you did find your dress from there, kudos to you!). I decided to venture to Ebay for my shopping needs.
And I got hooked.
At first I wasn’t really sure how to use this complicated e-commerce site and ended up bidding on a whole bunch of dresses in the same color and style just because I can. And then I realized, “Oh crap! I actually have to pay for them!”
But I’m slowly growing into a sophisticated Ebay shopper, picky about my merchandise, savvy when bidding.
The best part would have to be when the package arrives in the mail.
So of all the things I’ve already bought on Ebay, (which is not a lot, okay? I don’t have like, a whole secret closet stuffed with lawn chairs, owl watches, and juicers) my favorite would have to be this:
Guess what this is! Guess what this is! Okay, I’ll tell you.
‘Tis a monopod!
This contraption holds up my iPhone and smaller cameras and I get to wave it around and film people!
Here is a ROUGH first video:
What do you think? Do I have what it takes to be the next Steven Spielberg? (And I’d just like to state for the record that the shakiness and the blurred video image is an artistic choice, okay?)
Happy Birthday, Jessica Jann!
My sister is 21! My sister is 21! No more borrowing my ID and it’s time to go to Vegas! (When you get back into the country, of course.)
So…I made something for you, Jessica. Read on if you dare…

I have this problem. I have a need to share with the world my passions and interests and hope that they will also enjoy it. Hence, this blog is born- to showcase some of the things I'm most fascinated with. Most of the posts relate to the media as it relates to me. (Blame the early twenties neurosis of thinking the world revolves around you). (More..)
